It doesn't have to cost a fortune to buy a 4x4 vehicle, some cheaper vehicles are available, here are a few. Prices reflected are obtained via an ebay search at time of this article (Dec '16) based upon the average vehicle price of under 2,000 pounds the vehicle being in fair to good condition and with reasonable MOT remaining. No directly specific models just as found within said price range. Reviews provide a basic intro and are not necessarily in direct relation to specific models in the range. Obviously other factors to consider such as the running costs, insurance for us we find crippling. If space prevails off the road, thought could be given to having cheap non MOT 4x4 on a SORN which indeed if kept to a state of readiness, maintained to a good state of safety and roadworthiness could be another means.
