Looking at a few methods to provide safety or help using these three applications.
REFLECTIVE
Reflective applications are for night use, a light source striking said reflective will reflect light back to source. Incorporated into a wide range of safety options through to fashion clothing. If using stickers or tape the government standard relating to such within the transport industry is ECE104 which covers both the standards of the polyacrylate adhesive and the reflective intensity.
Marine grade reflective tape is produced to SOLAS (International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea) standards. One supplier of such here: SOLAS tape![]() |

FLUORESCENCE
Fluorescent or 'Hi Vis' as it is commonly known, for daytime use, relies on ultraviolet light to make it visibly pronounced, available not only in clothing but also stickers, paint and other forms. Note the effective tribute to this in clothing form will be affected by both wear and washing. Industrial and safety Clothing sometimes incorporates reflective material too.

Very handy, waterproof and tough, apply to almost anything that you want to avoid or locate at night
SELF ILLUMINATING GTLS
This is a continuous light source. Gaseous tritium light source (GTLS) also known as radioluminescent. Assortment of colours are available although green appears to be the brightest
How does it work ? Beta-particle emissions from decaying tritium . The Tritium gas is held within a vial to which phosphor powder has been coated, the electrons emitted from the tritium meet and energise the phosphor producing light.
With a half life of 12.32 years you will get quite a long life out of this, of course it will depend on the year it was manufactured, and the freshness of the stock you purchase, i would like to see expiry dates on packaging.
Just thought i would test one, no reading
GLOW STICKS
A good add for the kit, multiple use item, safe, cheap, practical and reliable. The reaction to produce light from mixing chemicals is known as produce light is known as chemiluminescence.
