DEALING WITH AN ACID ATTACK

Looking at acid attacks, remember time is of the essence here and YOU are the first responder.

            Neutralising ?
You have no idea what has been used in the attack THIS IS NOT AN OPTION neutralising can produce extreme heat ! IRRIGATION.

                         Acid attack London

Acid used as a weapon can be devastating and or life threatening leaving it's victim with possible life changing injuries, scarring, severe psychological effects including social and economic impacts .

It is nothing new. Hundreds of acid attacks occurred in London during the Victorian era although this was not limited to London alone, this form of crime during those times was referred to as 'vitreol attacks' finding woman to be a greater number of perpetrsators as opposed to men during that period.
Below, a couple of such cases from the Times.
                                                                                                                                                   CREDIT ^

         KIT
A dedicated kit can be purchased from numerous first aid suppliers or you could put your own kit together, here is a brief look. Remember this kit is not just for the victim that has been attacked but should contain protection for it's administrator too.

Above a typical kit, numerous suppliers so shop about, link to this particular kit here:
Acid attack kit First Aid Stop U.K
Depending on how much you wish to pay, advanced kits are available, these often contain advanced rinsing agents as opposed to just water, these kits do not come cheap.

                                            Diphoterine®

This is an active sterile rinse / washing solution for chemical and acid on the skin or in the eyes, available in different sizes and as an eye rinse, not cheap however. Below is a link to one supplier.

 Bottle Sprinklers.
I got theses from Ebay, designed to water plants from a drinks bottle however used in the case of an acid attack they are will cover a wider area slower then just tipping open bottles over said victim, a cheap add to any kit. Dedicated 'acid attack' bottle sprinkler adapters are also available from numerous emergency / first aid kit suppliers too.

Make a simple kit. An example dedicated acid kit could include:
            Suitable holdall / container
            6 X 500ml bottled water
     2 X Bottle sprinkler caps
     Scissors
     Chemical resistant gauntlets
     Eye wash
     Sterile water pods
     Protective goggles/glasses
     Mask
