FESTIVALS AND PUBLIC EVENTS
EDC carry for Pubs, music venues, clubs, carnivals and a look at being aware and staying safe including going away on holiday
Thinking about the average EDC kit, 'everyday' being the word but how about anywhere? Some EDC kits have more in them than you would take on an expedition crossing Africa ha

If the section 60 act is implemented for your safety by police local to the event area search can be more active even before the events entry point which itself is likely to search before entry. Your basic EDC maybe suited for general carry but going to an area of heightened search and security it is likely to cause problems such as refusal of entry to a club or festival and possible police involvement .This is something i have come across more than once, not the problem itself, but it would have been if it wasn't for my mini 'go anywhere' EDC.
Another consideration is loss, whether accidental or theft, keep items within this kit cheap but practical just in case.

ALCOHOL - KNOW YOUR LIMIT
EXCESS ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION REDUCES YOUR ABILITY TO PERCEIVE DANGER, DECREASES ALERTNESS, MAKES YOU MORE LIKELY TO EXCERSISE POOR JUDGEMENT AND DELAYS YOUR RESPONSES
1. Avoid taking your quality water bottle, you can find yourself having to ditch it as some venues will only allow sealed commercial water bottles / free water points for security reasons
2. Carrying a bag, if you must have one keep it small and minimal or it will slow your entry upon search and that of others
3. Festival campsite, do not padlock your tent, it can indicate you have valuables inside
4. Consider a money belt
5. Taking flares or fireworks to a music event is an offence in the U.K
My mini 'go anywhere' EDC, it may not offer much support during the apocalypse but is handy and stealthy

EMERGENCY NEWS FEED
Consider planning ahead. Where to get news and critical localised updates, follow a few relevant local twitter feeds within your current network before going on holiday, police, fire and rescue, ambulance, civil responders, a portable scanner could prove useful for listening to the hotel / resort security channel, another worth a thought is the local shopwatch, any major incident such as within a shopping centre is likely to come up on the local band
